INTERACTIVE SUBTITLE is a system for learning, practicing, and improving language skills when interacting with Video Subtitles.

The 58 essential sounds of the SPANIsh language

One of the most important elements in language learning is the knowledge of the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) to know how to produce the 58 essential sounds of the SPANIsh language.

Each of these letters represents a unique sound, which is produced with the mouth and tongue in a defined exhalation and articulation, the knowledge and exercise of the production of these sounds is vital to listen and pronounce perfectly, we have designed a window of phonetic symbols IPA, with videos of each of these letters for the student to constantly confront their listening comprehension and pronunciation in each word and subtitle.

THE 6 STEPS OF THE INTERACTIVE SUBTITLE METHOD

1. Choose and open a video that interests you a lot

You will get the best results when studying what you like most, regardless of its difficulty, your disposition will make you learn the language deeply, quickly, and easily.

2. Click on a word or subtitle and learn its meaning

The dictionary or translation module will appear automatically, remember that the goal is to memorize complete expressions and vocabulary.

3. Learn the symbols of the phonetic transcription

With the IPA Window, learn, listen and pronounce the phonetic symbols of the phonetic transcription that appears in the ear training module, SPANIsh has 58 essential sounds represented by phonetic symbols, you must learn to produce each of these sounds to listen and pronounce perfectly.

4. Listen and read the phonetic transcription

Train your ear and pronunciation by listening to the audios and reading the phonetic transcription, compare what you hear with the phonetic transcription to make sure you are listening correctly, guide yourself with the IPA phonetic symbols window.

5. Take the pronunciation test

Open the pronunciation module, pronounce and observe what the pronunciation module interprets and compare it with the correct text, identify the words in which you are failing and if that is the case, study them again, take the test until the module approves your pronunciation.

6. Take the writing test

Enter expert mode and perform the dictation test with the writing module, listen and write, when you have doubts when typing, exit expert mode and perform a text copy practice, then go back to expert mode and perform the dictation test.

Recommendation

Do this method with each word and subtitle of the Video, phonetic symbols are key to success, you probably mispronounce a large number of the words you know, even the simplest ones, verify everything you know and correct, with this method you will have solid knowledge and your listening, speaking and writing skills will be perfect.

During my school days my vocation was especially oriented to mathematics, however at the age of 15 in my last school year I discovered classical music and guitar interpretation, it was then that music became the most complex equation for me to solve and I said I'm going to study music, in unison the world said impossible! Some said that music is a gift, or that you learn from a child, or that you are born for it or not, and there I was, without a trained ear and the greatest of passions, I gave myself to the task from my mathematical vision of discovering the impregnable mysteries of music, I started with the guitar and 8 years later I was in a Tubular Organ playing the Tocatta and Fugue in D minor of J.S. Bach for the end of the season at the music school where I was a teacher. When came the sound engineering, I discovered that in a composition of thousands of notes, each one of those notes has data: name, graph, duration time, volume magnitude, frequency, attack intensity, timbre, harmonics, etc. and by handling that data from a computer I could make an orchestra sound even with better quality than a group that does not interpret its score from memory, and it was from the precision of those data and the Organ that the mysteries of the music were revealed to me diaphanous and clear without being from birth a virtuoso of music.

I always wanted to know English perfectly although I am from the time of the paper dictionary, I think that English should have been resolved in my school life by hourly intensity or whatever, in that aspect it was 11 school years wasted, later between university life, the guitar, the organ, and the sequenced orchestras, English escaped me like water or sand through my fingers, leaving me with terrible frustration, especially for my profession as a musician.

However, that chapter would not end there, when my sons were born my father's desire to give them the best and the best education possible put English again at the center of the debate, a doubly explosive combination, my frustrated passion for English and the future and education of my sons, and that is how English took center stage and as in my 15 years with music, now the English language, equally mysterious, complicated to listen to and produce perfectly, I knew then with my musical experience of orchestral sequencer that needed the accurate data of every cell, word, and sound of English, that I could not miss a single sound, not a single word of a speech in English.

Living music is represented in a score, living speech is represented in subtitles, so from the text of a living speech should be able to acquire all the data of each sound and word of the language, I then began to create a system of interacting with the subtitles of a video to acquire all the data of the language, I named it Interactive Subtitle and after 7 years of programming we went out to the public, the educational result was wonderful, the first users navigated Through English as someone who rides a bicycle without falling, they told us amazed that they finally listened, that their ears had been opened, that they understood, could pronounce and create their own speech.

Live music has its written score and each sound is represented by a graphic symbol, the symbols in the score are the sounds of music.

Live speech has its written text and each sound is represented by a phonetic symbol, phonetic symbols are the sounds of English.

Our method emphasizes phonetic symbols to hear and pronounce English, the virtuous like Mozart play and write by ear, the others use the score and their instrument to guide them. Natives are born of English mothers, the rest of us use written text, phonetic symbols, videos, and subtitles to navigate in English.

When we launched Interactive Subtitle for language learning, knowing the history of subtitles and their functionalities, for congruence, love of neighbor, and responsibility of being human, I knew in the depths of my heart that I could not leave without the possibilities that I had discovered and explored to the deaf community and that I should enter the world of those who do not listen and try to understand their life, vision and needs to find out how I could collaborate with interactive subtitles, this really requested a deeper immersion in communication and the human being I started that journey that seemed unique and beautiful to me, I a musician fighting for those who do not listen, the ASL platform is the maximum development of Interactive Subtitle, with more modules and tools than the language learning platform, the pinnacle in design and development of Interactive Subtitle is the ASL (American Sing Language) Platform and we are very proud of this.

Dictionary - Click on any word

Dictionary to a click on any word of the subtitles, with this system you will acquire quick, easy vocabulary, in context and in real situations.

Acquiring vocabulary while watching a video, reading and listening will allow you to exponentially increase the number of words you use, not knowing a word completely breaks communication in your mother tongue and in any language, that is why it is so important to know and handle the most possible words.

Ear training

Hearing training is one of the essential exercises in language learning, the student will have the original audio of the video and 2 alternate audios, one in American SPANIsh and other in British SPANIsh of the same content, this feature gives you the ability to hear the same content spoken by another speaker without noise, and in many cases with greater clarity.

The student will be able to analyze and repeat these audios indefinitely.

Each of these audios is represented graphically with the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) so that the student has no doubt what he listens to.
